OSU's School of History, Philosophy and Religion and School of Writing, Literature, and Film Present: The Machines Powering AI: Are Data Centers Worth the Cost?
Part of the Ideas Matter Series: The Ethical Challenges of AI
Data centers are springing up everywhere to answer the growing demand for artificial intelligence. How do local communities cope with their environmental impact? What kind of new power generation will feed these voracious energy-eaters? Will their water use affect the rest of us? Join us in a conversation with Felicity Barringer, facilitated by Alicia Patterson (philosophy) & Surabhi Balachander (literature).
This event is free and open to all.
