AI is advancing so quickly that it can be hard to keep up. But Kate Crawford is. A leading international scholar of the impacts of artificial intelligence, Crawford is a research professor at the University of Southern California, a senior principal researcher at Microsoft Research, and was the inaugural visiting chair of AI and Justice at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. She has advised policymakers in the White House, the European Parliament and the UN, and she is currently on the AI Council of President Sanchez of Spain. Crawford is also an accomplished artist whose works are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York as well as the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London.
