PRAx Presents: Oregon Symphony
When Grammy-nominated mandolinist Avi Avital brings the extraordinary sounds of his instrument to the undisputed classic The Four Seasons, you’ll feel like you’re hearing it for the first time — fresh and irresistible. Usually featuring a violin, the mandolin shines here as part of a full orchestral concert from Oregon Symphony. Part of your fun will be listening to Vivaldi’s spot-on sound effects: birds, a barking dog, gnats and flies, the chattering of teeth, and slipping on ice. The evening’s program will include other iconic pieces, including Mozart’s No. 35 “Haffner” Symphony.
PRAx gratefully acknowledges the support of Vicki and Patrick F. Stone (’74) for this program.
Please note: The concert start time has been adjusted to now begin at 8 p.m., which is a later start time than typical PRAx events.
Lightbox Happy Hour: Begins at 7 p.m.
