The Center for the Humanities Presents: Ten Years Later: Same-Sex Marriage Equality in 2025

Join us for a panel discussion featuring Jim Obergefell, plaintiff in the 2015 Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges, which legalized same-sex marriage. Panelists will reflect on the impacts of that landmark case on its 10-year anniversary.

Speakers include:

  • Alison Gash, Professor of Political Science at UO
  • Susan Shaw, Professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at OSU
  • Scott Vignos, Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer at OSU
  • Jim Obergefell, plaintiff in the 2015 Supreme Court case

Stay for an open rehearsal of the OSU Wind Ensemble, which will include the Oregon premiere of "John and Jim" by Viet Cuong, celebrating the outcome Obergefell v. Hodges. This piece will also be performed in Detrick Hall at 7 p.m. the same evening during the OSU Wind Ensemble's Winter Concert.
