Drawing from their wide scope of dance experience, Tentacle Tribe co-founders Emmanuelle Lê Phan and Elon Höglund blend street styles with modern dance expressivity in Prism. Based in Montreal, with its strong history of illusionistic arts traditions, Tentacle Tribe pulls apart the nature of perception in this creatively stunning work — searching for what we cannot really grasp and that which is hidden from words and from the gaze.
Kaleidoscopically multiplied, the bodies of the dancers unite and intermingle in synergy with Höglund’s music. This dreamlike journey has a hypnotic effect — even as, like the rest of Tentacle Tribe’s work, it remains firmly grounded in the body and in organic influences from earthly creatures.
