Tonality: America Will Be

PRAx and the School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts Present: Tonality: America Will Be

Two-time Grammy-winning Tonality is a different kind of choir: personal, vulnerable and formed to use extraordinary vocal beauty to stimulate conversations about issues important to us all. The choir sings to inspire, to innovate and to spark social change through the power of diversity.

Following their heartbreakingly gorgeous debut during our opening season, PRAx became co-commissioners of artistic director and conductor Alexander Lloyd Blake’s new work about Ahmaud Arbery, who was murdered while jogging in a Georgia neighborhood.

Created in partnership with the Arbery family, the newly released “Running From, Running To: A Musical Reflection on Ahmaud Arbery” represents everything that has made Tonality such a revelation. The piece will be presented as part of the program America Will Be, featuring selections from the choir's other projects.

At PRAx, Tonality will also be joined by Jasmine Arbery, Ahmaud’s sister. Ms. Arbery will speak on behalf of the family and the Ahmaud Arbery Foundation, whose mission is to “turn pain into purpose.” We welcome you to stay after the concert for a Q&A with Jasmine Arbery, Alexander Lloyd Blake, and singers from the ensemble.

Don’t see the seats you want available? No problem!

Tickets may open up and become available before the start of the performance. We advise guests to arrive at the PRAx Box Office within an hour before the start of the performance to check for any openings or to be added to our standby list. Once the event starts, PRAx staff will check whether there are any open seats for guests on the standby list to be seated in.

The standby list does not guarantee tickets to the performance, as tickets are subject to availability. Standby guests will be seated in any available seat during an appropriate pause after the performance begins.
