PRAx and Contemplative Studies Initiative Present: Well-Being Concert: Ablaye Cissoko and Cyrille Brotto
The spring Well-Being Concert features Ablaye Cissoko, a Senegalese kora player, and Cyrille Brotto, a French accordionist. The pair create a waltz between two bodies of knowledge through an intimate conversation between their instruments. These technically skilled and decorated players come together on a spiritual and intimate journey, playing a music designed, as they put it, to “clear the mind and inspire the senses.”
In partnership with Carnegie Hall in New York City and Marigold, the OSU Center for Contemplative Practice, PRAx launches a series of concerts (one each in fall, winter and spring) that combine world-class musical performances with elements of self-care and mindfulness, animated by research that music helps people heal and thrive.
