Cultivate Nuance

By analyzing history, culture, and ideas, the humanities offer ways to understand today’s most complex issues. The Center for the Humanities has been the OSU hub for humanities research and teaching since 1984. In that time, the Center has supported scholarship – books, articles, lectures, and conferences – that explores different perspectives and yields thought-provoking new conclusions.

Lead Essential Conversations

In supporting faculty research, the Center for the Humanities supports faculty in becoming leaders of dialogue: in the classroom, in their academic fields, and in our broader communities. On and off campus, the Center hosts public conversations and lectures by experts from OSU and beyond to expand our collective understanding and work toward change.
