Humanities
Cultivate Nuance
By analyzing history, culture, and ideas, the humanities offer ways to understand today’s most complex issues. The Center for the Humanities has been the OSU hub for humanities research and teaching since 1984. In that time, the Center has supported scholarship – books, articles, lectures, and conferences – that explores different perspectives and yields thought-provoking new conclusions.
Lead Essential Conversations
Through its research and teaching support programs, the Center for the Humanities empowers Oregon State University faculty to become leaders of dialogue on critical issues in the classroom, in their academic fields, and in our broader communities. And both on and off campus, the Center hosts public conversations led by experts from OSU and beyond to expand our collective understanding and to work toward change.
