PRAx Annual Themes
Annual themes at PRAx link STEM research, humanities scholarship, and arts expression.
In 2025-26, we explore Artificial Intelligence.
Our performance series Arts + AI opens with a performance and talk by multi-genre artist Harry Yeff, one of Time Magazine’s 100 most-influential people in AI. After that, we travel into the world of AI-generated theater with Rotterdam’s Urland Performance Collective and into the history of computational science with Invertigo Dance Company.
Center for the Humanities presents Just AI: Speakers on Socially Responsible Technology, a three-speaker series featuring Meredith Broussard, Karen Hao and Brian Merchant. These events are held in the Edward J. Ray Theater or Toomey Lobby in a unique “salon-style” format. And don’t miss the special appearance by science fiction writer Ted Chiang, another TIME Magazine top-100 voice in AI.
In the PRAx galleries and exhibition spaces, you’ll find the exhibitions machinekind and Voice Gems in fall – parallel installations exploring AI from different perspectives to launch the season theme.
