Voice Gems
Reeps100 (Harry Yeff) x Trung Bao
The Voice Gems project is rooted in love: In 2019, Harry Yeff (aka Reeps100), a pioneer in AI creation, made the first digital sculpture generated from the voices of two lovers. The work was used as a marriage proposal gift, replacing the traditional diamond gemstone and offering a viable alternative to an industry historically associated with environmental depletion and human conflict.
Now, Voice Gems is one of the world’s largest curated vocal archives, capturing the voices of hundreds of people to transform them into visually stunning digital “gems.” Yeff’s lifelong collaborations with the world's leading voice artists have shown him that the voice is humankind’s most precious tool and one of nature's greatest achievements: It is the purest form of self-expression, predating even language. Come experience the voice as you’ve never encountered it before.
Agentic Voicing Natures
Harry Yeff x ElevenLabs
Agentic Voicing Natures is a conceptual and technological project that gives endangered environments and extinct species a voice. Via four interfaces in the gallery, visitors are invited to communicate with voices representing the Thwaites Glacier, the Dodo, the Bengal Tiger, and the Northern White Rhino. Through conversational artificial intelligence (AI), custom voice design, and sonic storytelling, the project enables nature to speak for itself.
Parallel to the Augmenting Voices exhibition, Yeff presents in Detrick Hall on the evening of October 3.
