The School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts Presents: Diffusions: A Music Technology Concert (Spring)
This concert by students in Oregon State’s Music Technology program explores the aesthetic power of electronic sound production and manipulation through technological experimentation. Programs include a diverse representation of music and media, ranging from ballads and rock songs to electronic dance music, experimental music, and multimedia for laptops. In live concert production, “diffusion” refers to the electroacoustic music practice of diffusing stereo signals to multi-channel speaker arrays. Metaphorically, the name captures the breadth and range of this multifaceted concert that centers work composed, performed, and produced by students and faculty in the program.
The concert series began in 2017 and is directed by Dr. Jason Fick, coordinator of OSU’s MTP Program.
