Invertigo Dance Theatre's Formulae and Fairy Tales explores Alan Turing, his connection to Snow White (it's real, we didn't make it up), apples, queens, queerness, math, sex, fairy tales, death and even a bit of a laugh from time to time...
This queer fairy tale world is full of poisoned apples, queens of all kinds, and cheeky jabs at binary coding. Formulae & Fairy Tales blends dance and theatre to explore the life and work of codebreaker Alan Turing — best known for helping to crack the German Enigma code during World War II — and his connection to the Technicolor mythology of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, one of his favorite films. The performance builds on Turing's work in artificial intelligence and computer science and reclaims queer stories with power and grace.
