PRAx Presents: The Moth Project

“It is storytelling lifted to the stars…that will leave you with awe-inspiring wonder.” — The Front Row Center NYC

Join us where entomology, live music and immersive experience meet!

The Moth Project features three walls of stunning video — including ultra-detailed close-ups of the moth’s life cycle — and a set list that ranges from Bach to KISS to Berlin electro-funk. Opening with an environmental sound bath, The Moth Project closes with a participatory dance party — and along the way, it traces the parallel journeys of a moth’s life cycle and one family’s migration to North America. Featured on NPR’s Science Friday, the show jumps from empirical data and observation of the natural world to an imaginative narrative that weaves together themes of migration, seduction, death and transformation.

Created by Grammy-nominated and Emmy-winning producer Peter Kiesewalter and narrated in part by Robin Wall Kimmerer, the 7:30 p.m. shows on January 29 and 30 are suitable for all ages.
