PRAx and Contemplative Studies Initiative Present: Well-Being Concert: Roopa Panesar

The winter Well-Being Concert features Roopa Panesar, considered one of the finest sitar players to emerge from the Indian classical music scene in the United Kingdom. Embracing jazz and Western classical styles alongside Indian classical music, Panesar has been described by The Guardian as a player of “staggering dexterity.” She has released five studio albums, including Subha, a collection of morning ragas, and Sai Bandhan, featuring instrumental bhajans drawing on devotional traditions.

In partnership with Carnegie Hall in New York City and Marigold, the OSU Center for Contemplative Practice, PRAx launches a series of concerts (one each in fall, winter and spring) that combine world-class musical performances with elements of self-care and mindfulness, animated by research that music helps people heal and thrive.
